Prototyping: Prototypes are designed/constructed to further explore optimizing and perfecting functional, performance and design opportunities both for final product design and for manufacturing specifications. Prototypes may be created at various points of production readiness, from bench-top working models to simulated finished products.
Commercializing: Concepts and prototypes are converted to production ready drawings/specifications. IWK can then assist the Client as needed throughout the commercialization process. This can include both assessing Commercial Feasibility and assisting in establishing Commercialization Resources for sourcing, manufacture; business development; distribution and logistics. These steps may include:
- Finalizing concept raw material inputs (ingredients/parts/components), concept design/structure and sourcing
- Identifying and developing detailed estimated final manufacturing costs/processes/ timetables
- Identifying/recommending manufacturing/distribution partners and resources
- Developing/creating product packaging and shipping/distribution cartons/containers
- Developing and establishing sales/distributions networks
